Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing building services team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to work on technically challenging projects across sectors including healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and public sector developments.
 
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions, supporting project delivery, mentoring junior engineers and developing strong client relationships within a collaborative engineering environment.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:

· Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects

· Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams

· Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion

· Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation

· Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews

· Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations

· Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers

· Maintain and improve technical standards within the engineering team

· Contribute to innovative, sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions
 
Requirements:

· A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent qualification

· Minimum 3-4 years' post-qualification experience within building services design

· Strong experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within a consultancy environment

· Knowledge of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance

· Experience using design software such as:
oRevit
oRelux / Dialux
oAmtech or equivalent engineering software

· Understanding of sustainable design principles and renewable technologies

· Experience working with BREEAM requirements would be advantageous

· Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design

Desirable

· Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership

· CIBSE / IMechE membership

· Experience working on complex projects across multiple sectors

· Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers

· Understanding of electrical engineering principles would be beneficial
