Are you a Graduate Mechanical Engineer looking to start your career within the building services sector? We are currently working with a leading Building Services Consultancy who are looking to appoint a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Nottingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to gain hands‑on experience working on a variety of exciting projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential and industrial developments.
You will work alongside experienced engineers, developing your technical knowledge and progressing your career within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.
As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer you will support the delivery of high‑quality mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion. You will gain exposure to all aspects of the design process, including calculations, drawings, specifications, coordination and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Support mechanical design projects across a range of sectors
- Produce technical drawings and design documentation
- Assist with mechanical calculations and system design
- Support the preparation of specifications and reports
- Work collaboratively with electrical engineers, architects and other design consultants
- Attend project meetings and contribute to design discussions
- Assist with site surveys, inspections and project delivery
- Develop knowledge of sustainable and low‑carbon engineering solutions
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in mechanical building services design
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- A willingness to learn and develop within the industry
- Experience with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp, Amtech or similar would be advantageous
