Hydraulic Service Engineer

Job Description:

Starting Salary of £45k will be increased to £55k after successful probationary period. Are you an experienced engineer with a strong understanding of both electrical systems and hydraulics? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established heavy plant machinery business that is looking to strengthen its Service Engineering team with a skilled Electrical & Hydraulic Service Engineer. This is a field-based role offering extensive training, excellent earning potential, and the opportunity to work on specialist equipment across the UK.

The Role Following a comprehensive one-month training programme on the company's machinery, you will become a key member of the service team, travelling throughout the UK to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of heavy plant equipment.  Working Hours Monday to Friday Flexible working hours 40 hours per week Start any time from 6:00am, provided contracted hours are completed Overtime available and paid at 1.5x standard rate  You will be responsible for:
Diagnosing electrical and hydraulic faults on specialist machinery. Interpreting PLC fault codes and using technical drawings to identify and rectify faults. Reading and understanding hydraulic schematics. Identifying and troubleshooting hydraulic components including valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, and associated systems. Carrying out repairs, servicing, and maintenance work both on customer sites and in the field. Providing technical support and ensuring machinery is returned to full operational condition.  

What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you must have:
Strong electrical fault-finding experience. A solid understanding of PLC systems and fault code diagnostics. The ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Strong hydraulic knowledge with the ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics. A thorough understanding of hydraulic symbols and components including valves, pumps, motors, and associated systems. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. A full UK driving licence.  Highly Desirable

Skills:

Experience working on:
Granulators, Compact Balers and Shears Candidates from a recycling, waste management, heavy plant, or material handling background will be highly regarded.  Training & Development The successful candidate will receive:
