£40,000-£45,000 (+OTE £50,000-£55,000 with Overtime)
We are currently partnering with a leading manufacturer of woodworking and panel processing machinery who are looking to add a Field Service Engineer to their growing Edgebander Division. The business supports a wide range of CNC and woodworking machinery across the UK and continues to invest in its service capability and customer support network.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically and mechanically biased engineer who enjoys a customer-facing role, problem-solving in the field, and working on specialist industrial machinery.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, servicing, and breakdown support on edge banding machinery at customer sites throughout the UK. The position will involve extensive travel and ocassional overnight stays, providing a varied and autonomous working environment.
You will work closely with customers to diagnose faults, minimise machine downtime, and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently. The role would suit someone who is comfortable working independently but can also collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing activities at customer sites.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on edge banding machinery.
- Install, commission, and validate new machinery.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
- Complete service reports and associated documentation accurately.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional service delivery.
- Work closely with internal engineering and service teams to support customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety procedures.
Experience Required
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Service Technician, or similar role.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including regular overnight stays.
- Experience working on woodworking machinery, edgebanders, CNC machinery, panel processing equipment, or similar industrial machinery.
- Previous installation and commissioning experience.
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial electrical systems.
- Customer-facing field service experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Company Vehicle.
- Ongoing Manufacturer Training and Development.
- 40 Hour Working Week.
