Project Automation Engineer
Full Time, Permanent
Derby / Nottingham area
Up to £60,000 P.A + Excellent Benefits including overtime

In a nutshell…Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider delivering bespoke automation and control systems across multiple industries.
Due to continued growth and new project wins across the UK, our client is now looking to expand their engineering division and seek an experienced Project Automation Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end project delivery.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong experience in control systems engineering (PLC/SCADA).
What's involved for the Project Automation Engineer …- Understand client requirements and propose suitable solutions.
- Identify and apply relevant international, British, and client standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop PLC and SCADA systems, including sensor specification and interfacing.
- Collaborate with CAD engineers on panel layouts, considering heat dissipation, cable routing, segregation, and maintenance access.
- Create process diagrams, flowcharts, and state diagrams to illustrate system functionality.
- Ensure all hardware is fit for purpose and properly certified.
- Confirm designs are achievable within the available time and budget.
- Strong background in industrial electrical or automation engineering.
- Proven experience with control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs.
- MUST be able to PLC programme
- Ability to design or interpret electrical schematics and process control diagrams.
- Familiarity with standards and regulations in industrial controls.
- Experience with network design and hardware selection IDEAL.
- Excellent problem‑solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
- Monday to Friday (1pm finish on Fridays)
- 40 hours per week
