Technical Report Writer (Working at Height)
We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Report Writer who is looking to build a long-term technical career within a specialist construction and engineering environment.
Ideally, you will have experience in technical reporting, structural inspections and working at height environments. However, the organisation is equally interested in candidates who demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm to develop a career within this specialist engineering sector, as full training will be provided.

SALARY: £26,436 to £35,380 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits
LOCATION:
Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, East Midlands
Please note on-site parking is unavailable however, an on-street parking permit can be provided. The organisation particularly welcomes applications from candidates who live locally or can commute easily by public transport, walking or cycling.

This is a unique opportunity for a Technical Report Writer to develop further specialist knowledge within a niche working at height and construction environment.
Working as the Technical Report Writer you will prepare technical reports and quotations following inspections of structures such as industrial chimneys, masts, church steeples, steel structures and working at height safety systems.
As the Technical Report Writer, you will work alongside experienced technical surveyors, support the design and quotation of lightning protection systems with opportunity to gain accreditation in BS EN 62305.

DUTIES- Prepare Technical Reports:
Produce clear and accurate reports using information from inspections of structures and working at height systems - Create Quotations:
Provide quotations for remedial works, inspections, installations and technical services - Assist with Lightning Protection:
Support risk assessments, designs and quotations for lightning protection and surge protection systems - Maintain Accuracy:
Check documents, figures and supporting information to ensure a high standard of work - Communicate with Clients:
Liaise professionally building relationships with clients and respond to queries - Use Office Systems:
Use Microsoft Office and internal systems to prepare documents and maintain records - Support Safety Standards:
Learn and follow health and safety, technical and working at height requirements - Develop Specialist Knowledge:
Build knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods and technical reporting processes
- GCSE level education, grades 9-4 / A*-C in Maths and English, or equivalent
- BTEC or NVQ Level 2 qualification in construction or a related subject
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT skills, including strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Professional, reliable and safety conscious
- Genuine interest in engineering, construction, technical reporting or working at height
- Willingness to learn technical standards, engineering principles and industry terminology
