Principal Structural Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering high-quality building and structural projects from concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys taking ownership, leading project teams and working closely with clients, architects and other design disciplines to turn challenging briefs into successful built solutions.

• Leading structural engineering projects from initial concept through detailed design and construction.
• Providing technical leadership and sound engineering judgement across projects.
• Managing project delivery, programmes, resources and technical outputs.
• Coordinating structural design with architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Developing practical, efficient and innovative structural solutions.
• Reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Supporting project teams in resolving technical and construction challenges.
• Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and project partners.
• Mentoring and developing engineers and contributing to the wider growth of the team.
• Supporting business development, fee proposals and winning new work where appropriate.

• Chartered or near-chartered with ICE or IstructE (or equivalent professional body).
• Typically, 10+ years’ experience delivering structural engineering design for Residential, commercial, industrial and public sector developments.
• Strong project delivery and team leadership skills.
• Excellent technical knowledge and engineering judgement.ii>
• Experience working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
• The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and programme.
• Strong communication skills, both technical and interpersonal.
• A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused approach.
• Chartered status or a clear route towards professional registration.
