We are working with a specialist business in the MCC and power control sector to recruit a Proposal Engineer on a permanent basis to aid in the submission and award of contracts across the UK.
The ideal candidate will be suitably experienced in tendering and proposal submission within the engineering and/or construction sector, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to prepare detailed bills of quantities and procurement documentation.
You will play a collaborative role within the estimating team, reviewing tender documents to assess scope, risk, and complexity. This includes pricing tenders against framework schedules, assessing contract terms for insurance and performance penalties, and managing project risk registers.
As part of managing the full tender lifecycle, youll also be expected to attend project start-up meetings and prepare detailed handover information for production teams upon successful contract awards.
We're ideally looking for someone who has:- A strong background in tendering and proposal submission within Engineering/Construction
- The ability to read and understand the sequencing of project programs or schedules
- IT literacy in MS applications (Excel and Word), with estimating software experience being highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to meet tight deadlines and liaise with clients and senior management
Although predominantly office-based, the role will require attending out-of-office meetings and visiting client sites across the UK.
