Job Description & How to Apply Below

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Storyboard Concept Artist (Games | Visual Storytelling) based remotely in United Kingdom. Bring stories to life through expressive visuals, cinematic composition, and compelling character performances. In this role, you will transform creative briefs, narrative ideas, and gameplay moments into storyboards that guide animation, cinema tics, and in-game storytelling.

You will shape how stories unfold through camera angles, staging, pacing, gestures, and emotional expression, ensuring every sequence communicates its intent clearly. Working alongside multidisciplinary creative teams, you will explore visual approaches, refine concepts, and help translate artistic vision into production-ready material. You will balance cinematic impact with gameplay readability while maintaining narrative consistency throughout development. This is an opportunity to take creative ownership of memorable visual sequences in a collaborative, international game development environment.

Accountabilities

You will lead the visual development of story-driven sequences, translating narrative concepts into clear, expressive storyboards that support the wider game production process.

  • Storyboarding and Visual Storytelling:
Create expressive storyboards for character interactions, gameplay moments, cinema tics, and narrative sequences, translating scripts and creative briefs into compelling visual narratives.
  • Cinematic Composition and Pacing:
Develop effective compositions, camera angles, staging, and transitions to strengthen emotional impact and narrative clarity. Establish visual rhythm, pacing, and continuity across sequences.
  • Character Performance:
Communicate character personality, emotion, and intention through poses, facial expressions, gestures, and body language, making interactions engaging and memorable.
  • Visual Development and Exploration:
Produce thumbnails, keyframes, sketches, and visual references to explore different creative directions. Develop alternative staging and storytelling approaches before refining selected concepts.
  • Drawing and Spatial Clarity:
Apply strong drawing fundamentals to communicate movement, action, anatomy, perspective, and spatial relationships clearly.
  • Gameplay Integration:
Balance cinematic storytelling with interactive requirements, ensuring that action, combat, and gameplay moments remain visually understandable.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Art Directors, Animators, Character Artists, Game Designers, and Narrative Teams to develop character performances and emotionally engaging sequences.
  • Feedback and Iteration:
Incorporate feedback efficiently while preserving creative intent, refining storyboards and visual concepts to meet production objectives and quality standards.
  • Production Support:
Prepare clear storyboards and visual references to support the transition into animatics, animation, and in-game implementation.
  • Visual Consistency:
Contribute to maintaining a consistent visual language and high storytelling standards throughout the production process.
