Position: Audit - Audit Social Sector - School Leaver Apprentice 1 September 2026

Overview

Audit Social Sector - School Leaver Apprentice, Nottingham, start date 1 September 2026. Forvis Mazars is a leading global professional services network providing audit & assurance, tax, and advisory services. The role is a four-year apprenticeship within the Audit Social Sector team, offering exposure to diverse clients and a structured learning path with mentorship and professional qualification support.

Responsibilities
  • Years 1 and 2:
    Master the art of auditing, prepare meticulous audit documents using the latest software and methodologies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows).
  • Work directly with a variety of clients to understand their operations, challenges, and circumstances.
  • Build relationships with clients and internal teams; gather information and contribute to audit delivery.
  • Years 3 and 4:
    Take on increasingly complex audit work (e.g., revenue recognition, valuation, risk assessments).
  • Take ownership of audit engagements and lead in their delivery.
  • Mentor new and more junior team members and integrate into a permanent employee role.

  • On track or have obtained A-level, BTEC or equivalent qualifications; we consider the whole candidate, including experiences beyond academics.
  • Curious, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities; good problem-solving and knowledge-sharing.
  • Commitment to self-development, responsibility, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, respect for diversity, and integrity; able to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to a flexible working environment.
Learning and development

Fully funded professional qualification for this role: ACA. The program includes coaching, mentorship, study time, and a blended training approach (in-person and virtual).
