Underwriting & Pricing Senior Manager

This is a highly influential position, sitting at the heart of underwriting and capital decision-making, with responsibility for shaping reinsurance, investment and financial performance strategy.

You will operate as a trusted partner to executive leadership, working at the intersection of finance, actuarial insight and commercial strategy to deliver measurable outcomes.

• Driving financial performance across underwriting, pricing, reserving, reinsurance, investments and capital
• Leading reinsurance and investment committees, ensuring strong governance, challenge and decision‑making
• Developing and delivering reinsurance and investment strategies aligned to growth and profitability objectives
• Translating complex actuarial and financial insight into clear actions, metrics and executive‑level recommendations
• Providing deep analysis of reserving positions and capital optimisation opportunities
• Partnering closely with underwriting, pricing, actuarial and senior finance stakeholders
• Producing insightful competitor analysis to identify strengths, risks and opportunities
• Supporting senior leadership with clear plans, performance monitoring and strategic insight

• Qualified accountant with circa 7-10 years’ post‑qualification experience
• Strong understanding of insurance underwriting profitability and performance
• In‑depth knowledge of reinsurance structures, investment accounting and capital management
• Solid grasp of actuarial reserving outputs and their impact on financial performance
• Experience operating within a Solvency II environment
• Ability to influence and challenge at senior leadership level
• A commercial, analytical mindset with the confidence to lead through complexity
