This is an exciting time to join Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Following significant organisational change, we are strengthening our Financial Management structure to support the Trust as it progresses through the second year of its multiyear financial recovery plan.
With devolved responsibility for Directorate finances, we are seeking motivated individuals who aspire to become future leaders within our department.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Finance, the post holder will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality business and financial support across both the Care Group and Corporate Group. Key responsibilities include leading performance reporting and management, developing robust business proposals, driving service modernisation and process improvements, and overseeing budget setting and financial planning. The role also involves close collaboration with the Associate Head of Financial Management and colleagues across the wider finance function to ensure strong, cohesive financial stewardship.
The ideal candidates will be a fully qualified finance professional or an aspiring trainee working toward full qualification.
The post holder will be based at the City Campus; however, may be expected to travel to other bases depending on service need.

Responsibilities- To actively support the Deputy Head of Finance in leading on the financial aspects of service delivery within the Care Group or Corporate Group including CIP delivery.
- To adopt a proactive and assertive approach when working with other customers and finance colleagues.
- To consolidate the Directorate financial position including comprehensive understand of the key drivers.
- To develop plans to mitigate adverse performance and capitalise on opportunities aligned with Deputy Head of Finance and Head of Finance strategic direction.
- To interact in a positive and supportive way with Directorate Leadership Teams, Speciality Leadership Teams, budget managers, customers and colleagues.
- The post will demand corporate awareness and the need for confidentiality and discretion.
