Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Financial Accountant is a highly hands‑on role responsible for the integrity of the Group’s financial statements across all entities. The role leads consolidation, statutory reporting, audit coordination and international tax oversight, while managing 2x junior accountants.
Key Responsibilities:- Own preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements.
- Lead multi-entity consolidation and statutory reporting.
- Maintain Group accounting policies and technical standards (UK GAAP essential; IFRS
- Act as primary contact for external auditors and lead the year-end audit process.
- Ensure full balance sheet integrity and strong financial controls.
- Oversee UK and EU VAT compliance including OSS/IOSS.
- Lead US Sales Tax oversight including nexus monitoring, registrations and filings.
- Support financial governance of US expansion and new entity setup.
- Document technical accounting judgments and maintain audit-ready working papers.
- Actively participate in month-end close and consolidation processes.
- Review reconciliations and management accounts prepared by the team.
- Provide technical coaching and hands‑on development support.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, accountability and timeliness.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred; audit-trained advantageous).
- Strong consolidation and statutory reporting experience.
- Experience with EU VAT and US Sales Tax compliance preferred.
- Detail‑oriented, technically strong and comfortable operating hands‑on in a scaling business.
