We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a qualified or part‑qualified (ACA or ACCA) accountant who is keen to complete their accountancy training while developing their career within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day‑to‑day finance function, contribute to month‑end reporting, and take ownership of credit control decisions, while working closely with the wider finance team.
Key Responsibilities Daily Finance Operations- Maintain accurate financial records and support general ledger activities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and investigated where required
- Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash allocation, and chasing outstanding debts
- Take ownership of customer credit decisions, including assessing creditworthiness and setting limits
- Monitor customer accounts and proactively manage credit risk
- Work closely with stakeholders to resolve payment issues and maintain strong relationships
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs, providing analysis and commentary where required
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Completion of required compliance (ONS, VAT, HMRC etc)
- Work closely with other finance team members to ensure efficient and accurate financial processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Assist with audit requirements and documentation as needed
- Practice trained ACA/ACCA qualified or part‑qualified experience, with a strong desire to complete professional training
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient in the use of financial software and Excel (intermediate to advanced)
- A mindset of continuous improvement, with enthusiasm for innovation and process enhancement
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Knowledge of Sage 200 financial system
- Exposure to manufacturing accounting
