Private Client Tax Assistant Manager

Overview

A well‑established national accountancy and tax practice in Nottingham is expanding its Private Client Tax team and is looking to recruit a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a private client tax professional with strong compliance experience to take on additional responsibility, manage a varied portfolio, and develop advisory skills in a supportive, people‑focused environment.

• Manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, business owners, trusts and other complex private clients, delivering high‑quality tax compliance services and identifying planning opportunities.
• Liaise with both clients and colleagues to meet deadlines and ensure work is completed to high standards.
• Review self‑assessment tax returns and related computations prepared by junior staff.
• Supervise, mentor and support the development of junior team members.
• Proactively identify tax planning and advisory opportunities.
• Build strong client relationships and act as the primary client contact.

• Qualified tax professional (CTA or equivalent) with relevant experience in private client tax.
• Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage your own workload effectively while maintaining client service excellence.
• Strong experience in private client tax compliance and a proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently.
• Experience reviewing tax returns and mentoring junior staff.
