Salary: £37,502 with potential to rise to £41,669 over 3 years.

Overview

The NHS Supply Chain is looking for a Commercial Analyst to support the Commercial Directorate during a period of transformation. The role reports to the Commercial Manager and focuses on the Medical Technologies space, acting as a conduit between the Commercial Directorate, Corporate Finance and the Business Performance Team.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyse and present commercial, business and financial data to support commercial performance, pricing integrity and savings.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across directorates and provide expert guidance on commercial processes influencing decision making.
  • Identify root causes and implement process improvements to reduce errors, streamline workflows, strengthen controls and improve overall operational performance.
  • Manage and enhance rebate reconciliation processes, improving accuracy, timeliness, supplier engagement and resolution of discrepancies to maximise financial recovery.
  • Support all commercial activity within the respective Category, including financial analytics, savings and sales performance management, and wider business intelligence and data governance.

Required Skills
  • Financial acumen/financial analysis with working knowledge of financial processes and cycles.
  • Costing and budgeting – independent work on costing, budgeting and finance tasks with guidance to others.
  • Financial modelling – develop financial and economic models for planning and monitoring without supervision.
  • Managing complexity – analyse complex, large‑volume information and resolve problems.
  • Analyse alternatives and recommend solutions – evaluate options and present recommendations based on benefits, costs, and value for stakeholders.
