Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Boots Opticians Finance team as Senior Finance Analyst – Retail, reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Retail & Property.
This role partners the Retail and Operations teams and is pivotal in ensuring the Opticians business makes robust, value‑add decisions.
Responsibilities include shaping and influencing decision making via performance insight and challenge, alongside ownership and cost management for the Retail and Operations functions.
What you’ll be doing- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Retail and Operations teams and wider Boots Opticians finance team
- Reporting and analysis on Retail initiatives and store/regional metrics, providing insight on the trends and drivers impacting performance at macro and store level to influence decision making
- Working with our FP&A and Financial Control teams to ensure rigorous financial planning and reporting processes (monthly performance, forecast, budget) for the Retail and Operations functions including store level budgets
- Robust management of the Retail and Operations cost base to facilitate and support informed decision making
- Explaining key finance concepts to non-finance colleagues, upskilling the Retail and Operations teams in financial acumen
- Lead the month end close process for payroll and prepare and post month end journals, including accruals, prepayments and cost reallocations
- Prepare quarterly bonus calculations based on agreed performance and incentive schemes
- Support finance projects, process improvements and system implementations
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing financial information and documentation
- Develop and improve financial models and reporting tools
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
- Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Proactive and organized, with ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Experience of SAP and Power BI would be advantageous
- A relevant finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
