Finance Manager - FP&A

Big 4 to Industry | High-Profile Corporate Finance Role | Exceptional Career Development

Permanent | Onsite with flexibility

Nottingham

Salary £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Training & Progression Journey

Are you an ambitious, commercially minded finance professional ready to make your first move from practice into industry?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major, household-name UK retail and consumer business in a high-profile Corporate FP&A role, offering genuine exposure to senior leadership, strategic decision-making and a clear opportunity to develop your career.

Working closely with the Head of FP&A, you'll play an important role in shaping financial planning, budgeting and forecasting across a large, complex business. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive finance team where your ideas will be encouraged, your contribution valued and your development taken seriously.

And here's what makes this opportunity particularly exciting: the hiring manager made the very same move from Big 4 into industry! Having experienced the transition first-hand and progressed within the business, they understand the support, guidance and opportunities that can make a real difference when taking that next career step.

The opportunity

This is much more than a reporting role. You'll have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of a major business, influence decisions and work with senior stakeholders across multiple finance functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading key FP&A activities, including the annual budget and three-year strategic planning process.
Supporting planning and reporting across key business cost lines.
Analysing financial performance, identifying trends and translating complex data into meaningful commercial insight.
Producing high-quality reporting and presentations for senior leadership and Executive-level stakeholders.
Working closely with finance teams across the wider business, helping coordinate planning activity and deliver against Group deadlines.
Challenging assumptions, influencing decisions and helping the business understand its performance and future opportunities.
Managing and mentoring a Senior Finance Analyst, supporting their development and helping them deliver their best work.
Identifying opportunities to improve planning, reporting and financial processes.

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in speaking with ambitious, intellectually curious finance professionals who are ready to take the next step in their career.

You might be:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong academic and professional track record.
Currently working within a Big 4 or established accountancy practice, potentially at Audit Manager level, and considering your first move into industry.
Experienced in working with large, complex organisations and comfortable understanding financial performance from a wider business perspective.
Commercially curious, with an interest in retail, consumer markets, business performance and strategic decision-making.
Confident communicating with senior stakeholders, able to challenge constructively and turn financial information into a compelling story.
Someone who enjoys working collaboratively, building relationships and supporting others to develop.

Experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting or financial planning would be beneficial. Exposure to TM1 or Planning Analytics would also be advantageous, but we're interested in potential as well as experience.

Why this opportunity?

A genuine first move into industry: a supportive hiring manager who has made the same transition and understands how to help you succeed.
High-profile exposure: regular involvement in senior stakeholder and Executive-level reporting.
Real responsibility: ownership of important planning and budgeting processes across a complex business.
Leadership development: the opportunity to manage and mentor a Senior Finance Analyst.
A collaborative culture: work alongside an experienced, supportive finance team where development and progression are encouraged.
Long-term career potential: an opportunity to build your industry experience, broaden your commercial understanding and grow into future leadership opportunities.
