Location: West Bridgford

Annual payment of £3000, paid in equal instalments of £250 over 12 months, due to end on 30th September 2026, pending further review.

  • Carry out inspections and lead complex investigations across a range of Trading Standards functions to ensure compliance with legislation, protecting consumers and supporting legitimate businesses.
  • Investigatecomplaints, gatherevidenceandtakeappropriate enforcement action.
  • Provide expert advice and support to businessesandprovide advice through Primary Authority Partnerships, helpingbusinessesachieve andmaintaincompliance.
  • Lead and deliver projects, workingcollaborativelywith internal teams and external partner agencies to achieve sharedobjectivesfor consumers,businesses and communities.
  • Support and contribute to preventative initiatives, campaigns and projects that raise awareness, improve compliance and reduce the incidence of consumer detriment.
  • Support, mentor, and develop colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting high professional standards across the service.
To succeed in this role, you must have:

A recognised Trading Standards qualification (DTS, DCATS, DCA or Stage 2 CTSI Professional Competency Framework).Applications are also welcome from part-qualified candidates who are committed to developing their professionalcompetencethrough our career progression framework.

Appointment grade andsalarywill reflect qualifications,competency and relevant experience.

  • Problem Solving and Prevention– Identify emerging risks, trends and areas of potential consumer harm and take a proactive approach to preventing problems before they escape.

Successful applicants must achieve and maintain

Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2.
