Overview

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking a Specialist Cardiology Nurse (Part‑time, 19 hours per week) to support interventional cardiology procedures, ward and outpatient services, and contribute to a regional centre of excellence. The role involves scrubbing for basic and complex interventional cardiology procedures, assisting cardiology patient care, and providing expertise to other staff.

• Scrub and assist with basic and complex interventional cardiology procedures.
• Assist in non‑invasive cardiology services within the Outpatient Department, acting as a subject‑matter expert.
• Provide cardiology support to ward staff, acting as a subject‑matter expert.
• Complete pre‑assessment of patients requiring catheter‑lab procedures and facilitate MDT involvement.
• Support staff to deliver high standards of cardiology care across the Theatre Cardiology/Cardiac Catheter Lab, wards, and outpatient department.
• Drive safety standards in cardiology and liaise proactively with theatres, OPD, and wards.
• Contribute to business case development and projects as the service expands.

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
• Graduate or post‑graduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
• ALS provider.
• Substantial experience as an RGN/ODP within a cardiology catheter‑lab environment (scrubbing for routine and complex procedures).
• High standard of clinical practice and competence across a range of cardiology skills.
• Evidence‑based practice and knowledge of relevant standards such as the Care Quality Commission.
