Dietetic Assistant

We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant to work within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire for 12 months. The post holder will be based at Hopewood and work alongside two experienced Dietitians to support with the assessment and treatment of Children and Young People with Eating Disorders.
Main duties of the jobThe purpose of the role is to support the registered dietitian in the assessment, monitoring and treatment of Children and Young People with an Eating Disorder. Undertaking related administration in accordance with the British Dietetic Association code of professional conduct for dietetic assistants. The post holder will be expected to work within the wider MDT delivering interventions to Children and Young People under the guidance of the registered dietitians within the team.
The post holder will work under the direct supervision of a registered dietitian to deliver high quality dietetic interventions within agreed policies and protocols.

Job responsibilitiesTo work as part of the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service under the direction of a registered Dietitian to deliver high quality Dietetic interventions within agreed policies and protocols.
Work autonomously on specific projects as agreed with the registered Dietitian.
Be an active member of the CAMHS Eating Disorder Team and have awareness of other members roles and contribute to support those roles where possible.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Person Specification Qualifications- Diploma or equivalent appropriate qualification, e.g. foundation degree; or NVQ3 level qualification PLUS short courses or relevant experience to diploma level.

- Experience of working within the NHS / healthcare or community setting.
- Experience working with families.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of good nutrition in health.
- Experience working with patients in a care setting.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Experience dealing with telephone queries.
- Experience of involvement in development work - eg data collection, quality assurance, service improve.
- Experience of project work.
- Experience supporting nutrition / lifestyle programme.
- Experience in a teaching environment.
- Previous HCSW / DSW work.
- Previous experience of working within an Eating Disorders Team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide accurate verbal and written communication.
- Ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds & learning needs.
- Ability to use word processing software.
- Ability to use spreadsheets and database software to maintain patient data and statistics.
- Involvement in Group Facilitation Skills.
- Knowledge of Eating Disorders.
