Nottingham City Care Partnership are lookingto recruit an experienced registered professional to fulfil the role of Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner (Adults & MCA). The successful candidate will join our integrated safeguarding team,working principally across the adults safeguarding agenda.
Nottingham City Care Safeguarding Team adopt a Think Family approach; the service is progressive and innovative and is committed to supporting the workforce in understanding safeguarding, embedding it into everyday business and improving outcomes.
Supporting the Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner will be several lead safeguarding roles relating to Adults, Mental Capacity, Children and Domestic Abuse. A significant part of this role will be providing advice, training and supervision and support across the City Care workforce, with a particular focus on Community Nursing. However, the Safeguarding Practitioner will also assist with policy and procedural development, audit, and incident reviews.
Whilstthe successful applicant will be given training to develop the knowledge andskills in order to complete the above tasks and will be supported by more senior team members, it is essential that you are a First level Registered Practitioner with experience in dealing with safeguarding issues and the Mental Capacity Act.
This role requires inter-agency collaborative working; excellent communication and interpersonal skills are therefore essential.
This post is working 15 hours per week.
The Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner(Adults & MCA) will be an autonomous practitioner, working across the cityto support the workforce by providing safeguarding advice and supporting the workforce with the application of the Mental Capacity Act.
The successful applicant willbe providing safeguarding supervision, training, advice and support to the workforce, actively encouraging and supporting front line staff to apply the Mental Capacity Act to clinical practice and adopt a Think Family approach,considering the needs of the whole family unit when providing care.
The Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act Practitioner will participate in internal and external meetings, and work with a variety of professionals and service users to achieve positive outcomes in relation to safeguarding adults and the Mental Capacity Act.
You will need to demonstrate knowledge and skill in relation to current evidence based safeguarding practice and the Mental Capacity Act and be able to transfer this into practice through the provision of advice, training and other duties.

Job responsibilitiesJob Purpose
To support the development and implementation of safeguarding practice and application of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) across Nottingham City Care Partnership, ensuring effective multi-agency liaison and training on Safeguarding Adults and the MCA.
To support clinical and managerial staff in performing their safeguarding duties and responsibilities through the provision of advice to operational services, escalation of concerns to/from other agencies and effective feedback and support from safeguarding meetings and forums.
