Cellomatics Biosciences Ltd. is a rapidly growing specialised Contract Research Organisation (CRO) providing pre-clinical laboratory services to support the drug development programmes of Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies.
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our scientific team with cell culture related activities. The successful candidate will have expertise maintaining both adherent and suspension immortalised and primary cells. This role will suit an organised, process focused individual, who thrives in an independent, but structured environment. This individual will report to the Bioassay Senior Scientist/ Scientist and play an integral role in supporting the execution of various in vitro work.
Job Responsibilities:- Operate seamlessly with the scientific team to efficiently execute preliminary and maintenance cell culture for multiple studies simultaneously.
- Perform routine cell culture activities, including but not limited to, establishing, expanding, passaging, differentiating and banking cells, as well as seeding cells for use in different assays.
- Support medium throughput transwell assays, undertaking culture establishment, maintenance, and quality control procedures.
- Undertake laboratory work as required and be responsible for drafting SOPs, COSHH as relevant
- Function as the responsible individual for the cell culture lab inventory, maintaining reagents and consumables stocks, placing orders, and aliquoting materials as required.
Skills:
- A practical experience working with sterile, aseptic technique for a range of immortalized and primary cells.
- Experience working to strict deadlines and managing complex schedules in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
- Precise and accurate in pipetting techniques. Prior experience of using automated liquid handling system and electronic pipettes is desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of self-organisation, analytical skill, and ability to multi-task is essential.

Nottingham
Job Type: Part‑Time (shifts), 22.5 hours/week (4.5 hours per day, Monday–Friday)
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 pro‑rata (dependent on candidate experience and skill set)
Contract: 1 year contract with 3 months’ probation
