An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 4 Dietetic Assistant post. The successful candidate will be working with the Community Adults Nutrition & Dietetic Service. You will be based at Sherwood Rise health Centre and will be expected to deliver community clinics across various health Centres in Nottingham City
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who has an interest in nutrition.
The post is both interesting and varied with a particular focus on working with malnourished patients requiring Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS). The role requires someone to show initiative and work as a member of a team. Applicants should have a responsible attitude and be able to demonstrate good communication skills.
Previous NHS and Dietetic experience is a distinct advantage.

Main duties of the jobYou will be part of an experienced team working in partnership with other stakeholders to facilitate effective patient care.
You must be able to demonstrate effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work methodically under pressure using your own initiative.
You will need to understand the importance of confidentiality and a strong commitment in the delivery of a high standard of care to the citizens of Nottingham

Job responsibilitiesJob Purpose
- To support the Nutrition and Dietetic Services in the community including care homes and home visits.
- To support the Dietitians with the Oral Nutritional Supplement service (ONS).
- To support Dietitians with the delivery of patient group education sessions
- To support Dietitians with the delivery of nutrition related topics to other professionals
- To support the Community Diabetes team with Type 2 diabetes structured education
Dimensions
- To support the team to deliver care within job scope and national/local guidelines. This will include collection of anthropometric measurements.
- Working in collaboration with other professions. Working within legislation, policies, procedures and core values.
- You will be required to participate actively in City Cares training requirements, including in-service training and multi-agency training.
- This post has no budgetary responsibility; however, the post holder is responsible for demonstrating cost consciousness.
- You will be required to work across different bases and community settings which could include clients own home, residential or nursing homes, health centres and other community venues in the Nottingham City area.
