We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Orthotist for a fixed term contract to join our dedicated in-house Orthotics department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Main duties of the jobAs a key member of our team, you’ll join a supportive group of 10 Orthotists, 6 technicians, and 6 administrators. The department is equipped with an on-site workshop with CAD-CAM scanner and milling machine, Rodin and iPad scanning tools, and access to the latest orthotic technologies.
We are an innovative and collaborative team, working closely with orthotic companies and clinical partners across the Trust to develop new, effective treatments for our patients. Most of your clinical work will be based at the Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital campuses, with possible occasional work in the community.
Multi-disciplinary teamwork is encouraged and the Trust has numerous multi-disciplinary and complex case loads. These include:
- Diabetic Foot
- Adult Foot & Ankle
- Paediatric
- Spinal including HALO’s, Scoliosis, Trauma, Kyphosis and Cervical Conditions
Applicants must be HCPC registered and preferably members of BAPO.

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesYou will manage a mix of inpatient and outpatient clinics:
- 1–2 sessions/week on inpatient wards
- 6–7 sessions/week in outpatient clinic
- 1 session/week dedicated to CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
Outpatient clinics cover areas including paediatrics, neurology, KAFOs, diabetic foot care, and general orthotics. Some clinics are run jointly with other Orthotists or as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Degree in Prosthetics or Orthotics or equivalent
- Evidence of additional courses related to Orthotics
- Experience working with patients
- Experience of communicating with patients and staff
- Placement in an acute trust
- Experience in a care setting
- Evidence of fine motor skills
- Evidence of casting and measuring skills
- Experience in the workplace
- Experience using workshop equipment
Salary: £31,049 - £37,796 per annum (pro rata for part-time if applicable).
