Responsibilities

  • Partake in clinical pharmacy duties ensuring core clinical pharmacy activities are undertaken in the relevant clinical specialties.
  • Prescribing role when qualified.
  • Leadership, management and directorate/service support roles.
  • Line‑manage and support junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in medical team specialties.
  • Take full part in the 7‑day shift rota and bank holiday duties.
  • Contribute to the senior on‑call rota providing back‑up support to the on‑call pharmacist.
  • Work in a 7‑day working model; dispensaries are pharmacist‑free and technician‑led, with no operational commitments.
  • ePMA roll‑out within the Trust.

Person Specification
  • Essential criteria: Registered with GPhC.
  • Essential criteria: Have equivalent clinical experience compared to a diploma.
  • Desirable criteria: Holds a post‑graduate clinical diploma.
  • Essential criteria: Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Desirable criteria: Experience in undertaking, reporting and presenting audit/research or project work at local (Trust) level.
  • Essential criteria: Experience of day‑to‑day supervision and assisting in training of pre‑registration pharmacists and/or technicians.
  • Desirable criteria: Experience of training and education of both pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Essential criteria: Experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
  • Desirable criteria: Experience of developing and implementing medicines and service‑related policies for a specialty.
  • Essential criteria: Broad post‑registration experience in hospital pharmacy.
  • Essential criteria: Planning and organisational skills.
  • Essential criteria: Ability to prioritise own work.
