Support Worker - Supported Living

Location:

Lanchasire

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hours:

Full-time / Part-time / Bank

Shift Pattern:
Days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Support Workers to join our team supporting vulnerable adults and individuals with previous offending histories within a supported living environment.

This is a rewarding role where you will help individuals develop their independence, build confidence, maintain their accommodation, engage with their community, and work towards achieving their personal goals.

You will be supporting people with a range of needs and life experiences. This may include individuals who have experienced homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse, social exclusion, offending behaviour, or difficulties maintaining independent living.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred, trauma-informed and strengths-based support, helping residents develop the skills and confidence they need to live as independently as possible.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical, emotional and social support to residents
  • Supporting individuals with daily living skills, including cooking, budgeting, cleaning and maintaining their accommodation
  • Encouraging independence and positive decision-making
  • Supporting residents to attend appointments and access appropriate services
  • Working in accordance with individual support plans, risk assessments and behavioural support plans
  • Recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns
  • Supporting individuals to manage challenging situations and reduce the risk of crisis
  • Promoting positive risk-taking while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Maintaining accurate records, case notes and incident reports
  • Working collaboratively with housing, health, social care, probation and other professionals
  • Encouraging residents to take responsibility for their own choices and progress
  • Promoting equality, dignity, respect and inclusion at all times
About You

We are looking for someone who is non-judgemental, patient and able to build positive professional relationships with people who may have complex needs or challenging life experiences.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working in supported living, social care, mental health, homelessness, rehabilitation, substance misuse, probation or a related setting
  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive and solution-focused approach
  • Reliability, resilience and a willingness to learn

Essential 6 months or more experience of the care sector in the UK
