Equans is looking for a HR Business Partner to join the team on a permanent basis covering the North of England. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. An attractive salary, vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package are on offer.

This is a regional role covering the North of England, possibly the Midlands and Wales. The post holder can be based anywhere in the UK, but travel to these areas is required.

The role offers hybrid working with an expectation to be on site 2 days per week.

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking for your next challenge? This fast‑paced role involves complex grievance and disciplinary work. It requires an analytical thinker with strong influencing, relationship building, communication and collaboration skills.

The HR Business Partner will have 1 direct report and support approximately 1700 colleagues across a national multisite contract, covering multiple operational regions. Responsibilities include delivering people plans, improving culture, supporting change management, compliance, cost control and business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • HR Partner to HMCTS Management Team developing and delivering the People Plan and managing change projects
  • Identifying HR priorities from business and people plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices and delivering people solutions aligned to business objectives
  • Work with the business in support of Workforce / Target operating model review
  • Management of job evaluation/organisational design work
  • Gather data from a variety of sources and provide effective insight and analysis, providing recommendations for improvement and monitoring outcomes
  • Compliance checking and review including clearances, adherence to government and process controls and GDPR as required
  • Coordination of the annual HR cycle, including annual salary reviews, bonus confirmation and performance management
  • Lead for mobilisation projects, structural change and other people change projects across the Regions
  • Ensuring talent and succession plans are in place across the contract with appropriate development plans that are monitored
  • Advising on grievance and disciplinary processes and action including attendance at hearings as required
  • Analysis of progress against people KPIs, providing recommendations for improvement and monitoring outcomes
  • Establishment control, ensuring all changes are appropriately tested, approved and delivered and to safeguard profitability
  • Coaching line managers in all people processes to ensure best practice and employee engagement is enhanced
  • Delivering training to improve performance and engaging in follow on coaching
  • Continually review personal performance ensuring it meets the needs of users

Qualifications
  • CIPD qualified
  • Experience in an HRBP role across a large-scale multisite contract including line management experience
  • Track record in HR and change management
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice
  • Experience of complex grievance and disciplinary issues
  • Experience of TUPE
  • Commercial acumen and credibility
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels and build effective relationships, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Analytical skills with the ability to define and measure impact and value of interventions
  • Confidence with data, ability to manipulate data in different formats, derive insights, commentary, compelling fact‑based analysis
  • Numerate with strong verbal reasoning skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and with conflicting priorities
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Emotionally intelligent with demonstrable experience of influencing and challenging Senior Management
