Senior HR Business Partner - Schools

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior HR Business Partner (Schools) to join Nottingham City Council on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the HR Advisory service for maintained schools.

* Build strong relationships with Head Teachers, School Business Managers and Chairs of Governors.

* Provide advice and guidance on complex HR and employee relations matters, including sickness, grievance and disciplinary cases.

* Support senior recruitment, induction, performance management, succession planning, redeployment and redundancy.

* Lead and support employee relations projects and maintain effective Trade Union relationships.

* Support service redesign and organisational change while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and Council policies.

* Provide strategic HR advice and support to senior leaders.

* Manage and develop a team of 1–6 HR Advisors.

* Deputise for the HR Business Lead when required.

* Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have:

* Extensive HR experience within a large and complex organisation.

* Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.

* Experience providing technical HR advice to senior leaders.

* Experience managing complex employee relations and Trade Union negotiations.

* Experience working with different terms and conditions of employment.

* Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.

* Experience of leading and supporting organisational change.

* CIPD qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
