HR Training & Recruitment Coordinator

Join Squire’s and play a key role in supporting our people across 17 Garden Centres. Working closely with the HR Team, you will help deliver a comprehensive HR service, coordinate training and development activities, support recruitment campaigns, and promote employee engagement initiatives across the business.

Full Time

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position working
40 hours per week,
Monday to Friday
. Due to the nature of the role,
occasional weekend work may be required to support recruitment events, training activities or business initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability cases.
  • Supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of training programmes, including e-learning and in-house training materials.
  • Coordinating the Performance Review process and helping identify development needs across the business.
  • Supporting recruitment and selection activities, ensuring best practice, legal compliance and innovative attraction methods.
  • Managing the Squire’s apprenticeship programme.
  • Supporting the HR & Payroll team to ensure accurate administration and excellent customer service.
  • Maintaining HR records and reporting on key people metrics including vacancies, absence, training and employee engagement.
  • Managing employee engagement initiatives, including the Made A Difference (MAD) Award and Light Bulb Moment (LBM) schemes, employee surveys and benefit programmes.
About you:

You will have previous HR experience and in particular in a training environment, very strong excel and power point skills, strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for developing people. CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD is desirable, along with experience of training coordination and recruitment.
