Our client based in Mansfield is currently seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead a small in-house IT team and take ownership of IT operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining people management, operational oversight, and strategic planning across software, hardware, and IT infrastructure.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the IT Manager will ensure IT systems and infrastructure are secure, reliable, and aligned with organisational priorities. You will lead a team of software developers and hardware engineers, set IT priorities, and support the organisation’s operational and technical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop the IT team, including performance management, training, and regular one-to-one meetings
Recruit, onboard, and retain IT department staff
Set and enforce IT priorities aligned with organisational objectives
Ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of all IT systems, software, and hardware
Maintain high standards of information and physical security
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements
Manage IT resources and budgets effectively
Develop, source, or enhance software solutions to meet internal requirements
Prepare IT-related reports, including highlight reports and contributions to the organisational risk register
Act as a key point of communication between the IT department and other teams
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability, attention to detail, and a practical, problem-solving approach.
Essential
IT and/or management qualifications, or equivalent senior IT management experience
Broad understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development
Experience planning and managing IT resource requirements
Trustworthy and dependable, with the ability to manage sensitive information
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across the organisation
Desirable
Experience managing offshore development teams alongside in-house teams
Commercial awareness and understanding of organisational priorities
ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4)
