AI Project Manager - 1 day a week Nottingham - Salary 85k

I’m working with a large UK business that’s going through a serious digital transformation, and they’re looking for a AI Project Manager to lead their AI strategy.

This is a genuinely interesting opportunity for someone who wants to shape how AI is used across a complex organisation. The role is about spotting the right opportunities, setting the direction, and making sure AI actually delivers real business value.

• Identifying where AI can solve real operational problems or improve customer experience
• Building and owning the organisation’s AI roadmap
• Assessing feasibility, value and ROI for potential initiatives
• Staying close to the latest AI tools, platforms and partners
• Acting as the solution lead for AI initiatives, making sure the technology fits the business need
• Working closely with engineering, data and product teams to design and deliver solutions
• Overseeing delivery timelines, milestones and stakeholder communication
• Monitoring performance of deployed AI tools and improving them over time
• Championing AI adoption across teams and supporting people through change
• Presenting business cases to senior leadership to secure investment
• Helping teams use AI responsibly and within governance guidelines

• Experience in AI strategy, solution design or technology consulting
• Strong understanding of AI concepts such as ML, NLP, generative AI and automation
• Experience evaluating AI tools, platforms and vendors
• The ability to translate business problems into practical AI use cases
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
• Strong communication skills, able to make complex ideas clear
• Experience delivering transformation or innovation programmes
• Familiarity with platforms such as Azure ML, OpenAI, Hugging Face or similar
• Understanding of AI governance and responsible deployment
