Business Ananlyst - Security Cleared

Job Role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of a complex data and analytics solution within a secure UK public sector environment.

The role will focus on requirements elicitation, translating business and operational needs into clear functional and data requirements, and supporting delivery and testing across a multidisciplinary project team.

Due to the nature of the engagement, candidates must hold active UK Security Clearance.

• Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Work with business users and subject matter experts to understand operational processes and translate them into clear delivery requirements.
• Capture and refine data requirements, business rules and decisioning logic.
• Support the definition of risk rules, alert criteria and associated processing requirements.
• Produce user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and requirements documentation.
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
• Support solution design by clarifying business processes, data flows and operational needs.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning and other Agile delivery activities.
• Identify and manage requirements-related risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
• Support testing activities including test planning, test case definition and defect triage.
• Coordinate with business users and delivery teams during system and user acceptance testing.
• Support the definition of investigation workflows, case management processes and user interactions.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirements walkthroughs.
• Provide clear and concise updates to project and stakeholder groups.

• Active UK Security Clearance.
• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on complex software, data or analytics projects.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills.
• Experience translating business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary delivery teams including developers, testers and project managers.
• Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and requirements documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting testing and defect resolution activities.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively within secure, regulated or public sector environments.

• Experience delivering data and analytics solutions.
• Experience working with fraud, compliance, risk or rules-based decisioning solutions.
• Experience eliciting and documenting business rules or risk rules.
• Experience defining data requirements for ETL, data integration or data engineering solutions.
• Experience leading or coordinating system and user acceptance testing.
• Experience working with SAS technologies.
• Experience with SAS Viya or other enterprise analytics platforms.
• Experience with case management, workflow or investigation systems.
• Experience working within UK Government.
• Familiarity with SQL or the ability to interrogate data to support requirements analysis.
• Experience working across multiple suppliers, partners or delivery organisations.
