The Role – Supply Chain Manager | Isle of Wight
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to join a growing and dynamic electro-mechanical business based on the Isle of Wight. This Supply Chain Manager position on the Isle of Wight offers the chance to shape and lead a strategically enabled supply chain function during a period of strong business growth.
The Supply Chain Manager on the Isle of Wight will take full ownership of Procurement, Stores & Logistics, and Planning functions, including Shipping, Sub-contract Control, and Export/Import Compliance. The Supply Chain Manager will also be responsible for establishing a dedicated planning department to support future growth on the Isle of Wight site.
Key Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager – Isle of WightThe Supply Chain Manager on the Isle of Wight will:
- Develop and implement supply chain safety guidelines, supporting all HSE initiatives.
- Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across supply chain operations.
- Create and deliver short-, medium-, and long-term Supply Chain strategy, including risk mitigation and capital investment planning.
- Lead and manage Procurement, Stores & Logistics, and Planning departments.
- Oversee ERP supply chain health and system performance (MRP essential, SAP preferred).
- Act as escalation point for supply chain issues including delivery delays and supplier challenges.
- Develop, monitor, and report KPIs, including trend analysis and performance improvement plans.
- Own site On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance on the Isle of Wight.
The successful Supply Chain Manager on the Isle of Wight will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Supply Chain Manager within a rapidly growing electro-mechanical environment.
- Strong working knowledge of supply chain processes and MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience with import/export controls within a defence environment (desirable).
- Strong analytical capability and strategic thinking ability.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field (CIPS or equivalent desirable).
