Qualified Supervisor – Repairs and Maintenance

Nottingham

Picture yourself leading quality, safety and great service.

You care about doing things right, making homes safe, work compliant, and teams confident. As our Qualified Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our customers’ homes well‑maintained while supporting operatives, contractors and managers to deliver an outstanding, customer-first repairs service.

If you’re experienced in multi-trade repairs, confident in supervising people and projects, and ready to take ownership of quality across repairs and maintenance, this could be the perfect next step for you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the named Qualified Supervisor for repairs and maintenance across NCHA, helping ensure all works, whether delivered by our operatives or external contractors, meet the highest standards.

You’ll:

* Carry out inspections on work in progress and completed repairs, identifying issues, rectifying problems, and providing clear feedback.

* Oversee multi‑trade works including plumbing, joinery, plastering, groundworks and general building repairs.

* Support operatives through coaching, mentoring, technical guidance and toolbox talks.

* Work hand‑in‑hand with our Repairs and Maintenance Team Managers and planners to improve performance, reduce remedials and enhance customer experience.

* Promote safe working practices, ensuring RAMS, compliance and statutory requirements are consistently met.

* Lead small projects end‑to‑end, ensuring quality, communication and delivery timelines stay on track.

* Support investigations into incidents, near‑misses or non‑compliance issues and help implement improvements.

* Champion sustainable ways of working, from waste reduction to choosing environmentally responsible materials.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have:

* NVQ Level 3 in a relevant trade (plumbing, joinery, plastering, bricklaying etc.).

* NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (or be willing to work towards), ensuring you can confidently support safe systems of work and promote a strong health & safety culture across the service.

* Strong multi‑trade repair experience in domestic/residential settings.

* Confidence supervising operatives or contractors

* Experience coaching, mentoring and developing others.

* Solid understanding of building regulations, health & safety and compliance (CDM, RAMS).

* Technical credibility, with the ability to make sound decisions on site.

* Excellent communication and people skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback and handle challenging conversations.

* A positive, solution‑focused mindset and genuine commitment to great customer service.

* A full UK driving licence – unless a disability precludes this.

You won’t just be inspecting work; you’ll be shaping how our service performs. Your judgement, coaching and leadership will help us deliver safe, high‑quality homes and a truly customer‑focused experience.
