Applications are invited to provide timely and high‑quality support to the repair, service and maintenance of electronic equipment across teaching and research within the School of Life Sciences. The role holder will work within a small technical team, using knowledge and skills to maintain, repair or service a wide range of scientific and specialised electronic equipment, ensuring work is consistently completed to a high standard.
Where repairs are no longer possible, the role holder removes usable parts to aid in future repairs, continually ensuring all electronic equipment is compliant with SLAs.
- Carry out maintenance, repair and servicing of advanced scientific and electronic equipment.
- Communicate complex technical information to staff, students and external collaborators.
- Work with third parties and contractors when required.
- Lift and move consumables and equipment regularly.
- Order parts and consumables for the workshops.
- Maintain and update key documentation and inventories.
- Ensure health and safety compliance.
- Plan, prioritise and manage a full workload via the line manager and job request App.
- Previous experience in a technical or scientific role.
- Proven skills in maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of advanced equipment.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
