Here at UPP we have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to work as part of our Nottingham team in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, on a ten week rolling rota that will involve covering three weekends out of the 10. The salary is £26,739 per annum.
- Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and provide front line response when jobs are raised on the Workplace Management System (Planon) utilising a portable electronic device to record job details
- Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the SLA, including keeping the sites clean and well maintained by monitoring plant rooms and common areas
- Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, and emergency lighting checks
- Provide reports (verbal/written and electronic) relating to compliance, maintenance tasks and condition checks
- Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s) and take appropriate immediate actions to reduce risk

You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
