Are you ready to play a key role in delivering high-profile, high-value energy asset projects? We are seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to take ownership of all commercial elements across complex new build and ongoing infrastructure programmes, ensuring successful contract delivery and robust financial management.

In this role, you will bring your commercial expertise, leadership capability, and project management experience to drive large-scale energy projects that support the global shift toward sustainable, secure energy systems.

The role

As Commercial Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate commercial activities across very high level major energy asset projects, including:

  • Managing cross-functional and international teams while fostering a safe, inclusive, and psychologically supportive work environment.
  • Acting as a leadership role model, empowering project teams and bridging diverse cultures.
  • Overseeing all financial elements of projects — cost controls, financial optimisation, forecasting and reporting.
  • Planning and controlling commercial and risk activities across the full project lifecycle.
  • Leading procurement strategy development, advising on contract structures, and working closely with procurement and legal teams.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders effectively throughout delivery.
  • Driving strong contract and claim management, including complex financial negotiations.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, legal frameworks, and high HSSE standards.
  • Implementing robust change-control mechanisms aligned with financial governance.
Required qualifications and experience
  • A degree in a commercial, legal, or technical subject — MBA preferred.
  • Project management certification (PRINCE2, APMP, IPMA) and substantial experience managing complex technical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract types, forms of contract, and commercial mechanisms.
  • Confident, clear, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate with international teams.
  • Experience working across diverse cultural environments.
  • Strong MS Office capability and financial SAP skills.
  • Fluent English (German beneficial).

For this role it is essential that you have worked on either large scale new build projects or high value projects.
