Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has been the force behind gardening for more than 200 years. We believe everyone in every village, town and city should benefit from growing plants to enhance lives, build stronger, healthier, happier communities and create better places to live. We want to enrich everyone’s life through plants and make Britain a greener and more beautiful place.

Best known for our world-famous Flower Shows and our Gardens, our charitable work is diverse and includes connecting millions of children with nature through the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, managing RHS Britain in Bloom, Europe’s largest community gardening campaign, and conducting pioneering horticultural science research.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future; you will be the Facilities and Compliance Manager, with primary responsibility for managing all buildings, services and facilities at RHS Garden Bridgewater, ensuring ongoing safety and compliance and meeting the needs of the RHS and its visitors. Working to a high professional standard to ensure regulatory compliance and continuity of business operations, you will provide subject matter expertise to a range of stakeholders at RHS Bridgewater.

What

we are looking for
  • An experienced facilities manager with experience managing a team, ideally in both soft and hard services
  • Someone to manage legislative and regulatory compliance in all systems and procedures, as well as a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) annual site-specific inspection programme
  • You being able to manage an in-house team of other facilities staff, delegating day-to-day tasks via your Team Leader as appropriate
  • Experience in the charity, heritage or environmental sectors is a bonus, but not essential

This is a unique opportunity to work in beautiful surroundings with a passionate, expert team. You’ll help deliver meaningful, long-term improvements for the visitors, staff and communities, while supporting one of the UK’s most respected charities.

If you're looking for a role where your professional skills will make a real difference, and you're as comfortable managing people as you are delivering a great service, we would love to hear from you.
