Technical Sales Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

My client are seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales Office Manager to lead and develop a multi-function sales team within an engineering-led environment.

Reporting to the COO, this role is responsible for driving strategic growth, improving sales processes, entering new markets, and ensuring operational accuracy across quotations, tenders and order management.

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong technical understanding combined with commercial authority.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

* Leading and developing the internal sales operations team and Business Development Managers

* Driving revenue growth across new and existing accounts

* Developing and delivering strategic sales plans

* Managing lead generation processes and ensuring measurable ROI

* Securing preferred supplier status within corporate and distribution markets

* Overseeing enquiries, quotations, costings and order processing

* Ensuring accuracy in pricing, including special orders

* Preparing and submitting PQQ and tender documentation

* Managing construction contract processes where required

* Producing revenue reports and realistic forecasting for senior leadership

* Identifying emerging markets and competitive positioning

* Driving team performance, coaching and accountability

* Ensuring systems, records and compliance standards are maintained

About You

* Proven experience leading and developing sales teams

* Strong technical understanding of mechanical or engineering environments

* Demonstrated success driving strategic growth

* Experience managing tenders, PQQs or construction-related contracts

* Commercially astute with strong financial awareness

* Confident presenting data and influencing at senior level

* Hands-on leadership style with a proactive mindset

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Comfortable working with CRM/ERP systems (SAGE desirable)

* UK driving licence and willingness to travel
