Position: Assistant Chief Officer - Police Staff

Are you a strategic, forward-thinking and influential senior leader? We are seeking an Assistant Chief Officer (Corporate & Enabling Services) to join our Chief Officer Team at Nottinghamshire Police.

🚀 What you'll do

As a key member of the Force Executive, you will:

  • Lead and shape our Corporate & Enabling Services portfolio, ensuring our services are high‑quality, efficient and fully aligned to operational policing needs.
  • Work closely with the Chief Constable and Deputy Chief Constable to deliver long‑term organisational strategy and drive service‑wide improvement.
  • Oversee major functions including finance, estates, ICT/digital, procurement, risk, assurance and governance.
  • Drive our IT and Estates strategies, ensuring modern, secure, efficient and fit‑for‑purpose services for the future.
  • Lead on the development of financial strategy, including medium‑term planning, financial governance, and the Statement of Accounts.
  • Champion organisational culture, wellbeing, professional standards and continuous improvement across the Force.
  • Build strong partnerships at local, regional and national level, enhancing Nottinghamshire Police’s influence and impact.
You’ll bring:
  • Extensive senior leadership experience within a large, complex organisation.
  • A proven track record in delivering organisational change and major transformation programmes.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with multi‑disciplinary budgets and strategic financial planning.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills.
  • A positive, inclusive leadership style that inspires confidence and drives high performance.
  • Experience of digital, estates or corporate portfolio leadership (desirable).
  • CIPFA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (preferred).
