Our workforce solutions provider client is seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to oversee the delivery of field-based smart metering services within the Utilities/Water sector based out of Whiteley (between Southampton and Portsmouth).
This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing a large, geographically dispersed workforce while ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, operational excellence, and commercial performance. The role will require travel across the Hampshire, Sussex and Kent regions.
Working closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders, you will play a critical role in supporting the continued growth of a rapidly expanding business.
Responsibilities- Operational management of a large, field-based workforce, ensuring performance, safety, and engagement standards are met
- Direct ownership of client relationships, overseeing contract delivery and service performance
- Driving workforce engagement, performance management, and development
- Oversight of stock management and supply chain activities to ensure efficient service delivery
- Producing, tracking, and presenting operational and commercial performance reports
- Managing budgets and contributing to P&L performance
- Working collaboratively with senior managers and cross-functional internal teams
- Effectively managing competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
- Proven experience in field services and client management within the Utilities sector (water industry experience highly desirable)
- Strong people management and leadership skills, with experience managing large operational teams
- Commercially astute, with experience managing budgets and P&L responsibility
- Confident relationship builder, able to engage operational teams, clients, and senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, resilient under pressure, and able to work proactively using own initiative
- Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to grow and progress within a fast-growing business
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Based within commuting distance of Whiteley, Hampshire
- Competitive salary of 55,000- 60,000 depending on experience
- 10% annual bonus
