Credit Manager

Location: NottinghamshireSalary: £65,000 - £80,000Hybrid Working Available

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced credit professional to join a leading international organisation as a Credit Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a significant credit portfolio, supporting key commercial relationships, and helping to drive business success through effective credit risk management.

Working within a specialist credit team, you will play a pivotal role in developing strategic customer relationships, structuring complex credit facilities, and ensuring the ongoing quality and performance of the portfolio.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative international environment, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and commercial teams while contributing to strategic business initiatives and process improvements.

A comprehensive handover and transition period will be provided to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with key customers and partners

  • Structure, review and approve complex credit line applications and requests

  • Assess and manage credit risk across a substantial portfolio

  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify potential risks and opportunities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across commercial and operational teams

  • Support business growth through the provision of tailored credit solutions

  • Lead and contribute to strategic process improvement and system enhancement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements

  • Provide expert credit guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Drive continuous improvement within credit processes and portfolio management activities

About You

We are seeking a commercially minded credit professional with strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in credit risk management.

You will possess:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit evaluation and risk management techniques

  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • The ability to influence and gain credibility with senior stakeholders

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills

  • A flexible and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

  • Significant experience within commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management

  • Experience with in financial services, asset finance, commercial lending, banking, or a similar credit-focused environment

  • Proven experience managing complex customer credit relationships

  • Previous people management or leadership experience

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and credit risk assessment
