Head of Commercial - Property (Insolvency & Valuation)

Salary £60,000- £65,000 plus benefits and bonus

An established UK-wide property business is seeking a Head of Commercial to lead its property function. The team operates nationally from its Nottingham headquarters, delivering a broad range of services to owners, agents, and stakeholders. This is a key leadership role focused on insolvency-led valuations and disposals, with exposure to a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial property, land and luxury property.

The property team is led by Chartered Surveyors and offers expertise across:

• Appraisals & Valuations (leases and property)
• Auctions
• Private Treaty disposals
• Property Management
• Maintenance and Security
• Commercial & Residential Property Clearances
• Probate Services

Clients include solicitors, LPA receivers, landlords, and private individuals, with a strong emphasis on professional and discreet service delivery.

• Undertake and oversee valuations across commercial property (office, industrial, retail), residential assets and portfolios, development land and strategic sites, leasehold interests (occasional). Provide pragmatic valuation advice in insolvency and distressed scenarios. Deliver defensible pricing to support disposal strategies. Work in a commercially focused environment (limited formal Red Book reporting).
• Lead asset disposals via auctions and private treaty sales. Maximise returns through strategic positioning and pricing. Navigate distressed markets with confidence.
• Manage and mentor a team of 3 surveyors within a small office environment, oversee processes, quality, and delivery standards. Provide technical leadership and support development of junior staff. Act as the senior lead within the Nottingham office.
• Support growth of the commercial property offering. Build and maintain relationships within the insolvency and restructuring sector. Identify and convert new opportunities. Contribute to broader business growth initiatives alongside leadership.

• MRICS (Chartered Surveyor) – essential
• RICS Registered Valuer – preferred

• Commercially astute with a pragmatic, solutions-led approach
• Experience in auction and private treaty disposals
• Proven leadership experience managing small teams
• Able to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
