General Manager – Operations & People Leadership
£70 –75k salary + 30% bonus + car/car allowance

Nottingham – site based role with Monday to Friday working week

Are you an experienced operational leader who knows how to get the best from people, improve performance and keep a busy, high-volume operation running at its best?

We’re recruiting a General Manager for a major UK organisation, taking responsibility for a substantial operation with around 60 people across multiple operational departments.

Working with an established and experienced team of direct reports, you’ll have the autonomy to lead the operation, develop your people and drive continued improvements in performance, efficiency and customer service.

The role combines responsibility for:

* Operational management – overseeing complex, high-volume workflows, storage and transport

* People and team leadership – leading, coaching and developing your management team and creating a high-performance culture

* P&L management – taking ownership of financial performance, budgets, revenue and costs

* Stakeholder management – building strong relationships and communicating effectively across the wider business

* Problem solving – understanding complex operational issues and resolving them at root cause

* Continuous improvement – identifying and delivering improvements to service, processes and operational performance

What we’re looking for

You could come from retail, logistics, distribution, automotive, manufacturing, service operations or another high-volume environment but more important than the sectors you have worked in is your ability to demonstrate the following:

* Strong operational management

* People leadership

* Commercial awareness including P&L management

* Analytical approach with significant use of data to interpret performance issues, opportunities and to make decisions

* Operating with proactivity in fast paced environments

* Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives

The remuneration package

* Salary of £70 –75k, with some flexibility for the right person

* Bonus of up to 30% of salary

* Company car or car allowance

* Pension contributions
