Practice Manager - Bury | Hybrid Working

A long-standing, multi-service law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Practice Manager to support the continued development and smooth running of its Bury office.

This is a broad and varied role, ideal for someone with strong experience within a legal practice who enjoys being involved across the operational, financial and people aspects of a firm.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the practice, helping to ensure the firm operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of client service and compliance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office and supporting the wider management team
• Managing and developing support staff, including recruitment, performance and training
• Monitoring financial performance, budgets, billing and cash collection
• Supporting compliance, risk management and regulatory requirements
• Reviewing and improving internal processes and procedures
• Working with fee earners and departmental heads to improve operational efficiency
• Supporting HR and people-related matters across the practice
• Liaising with external suppliers and professional advisers where required
• Preparing management information and reports for senior management
• Identifying opportunities for continued growth and improvement across the business

You will ideally have previous experience in a Practice Manager, Legal Practice Manager, Office Manager or similar senior operational role within a law firm.

You will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident working with people at all levels. Strong knowledge of the operational and regulatory requirements of a legal practice is important, alongside excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

This is a hands-on position where you will have genuine involvement in the running and development of the practice, so the ability to work autonomously and take ownership will be key.
