Managing Director

Our client, a market-leading business operating at the forefront of its sector, is seeking an exceptional Managing Director to take full ownership of a high-growth, innovative product line and lead it into its next phase of development.

Backed by entrepreneurial shareholders and supported by a successful wider group, the business combines an innovative, differentiated product portfolio with significant market opportunity. The ambition is to accelerate growth, scale the operation, and establish the product line as a benchmark for innovation within its market - with the potential to disrupt the wider sector.

This is a high-profile, entrepreneurial leadership role for a commercially astute and operationally credible executive who can run the division as a business within a business, owning its strategy, P&L and day-to-day delivery, while leveraging the scale, manufacturing capability and brand strength of the wider group.

Reporting to the Group CEO, with a dotted-line relationship to the Chairman, the Managing Director will have full P&L accountability and overall responsibility for:

• Setting and executing the long-term strategy for the product line
• Driving profitable revenue growth and developing new markets, channels, partnerships and opportunities
• Leading product innovation and maintaining a strong technical and intellectual property position
• Developing and evolving the go-to-market strategy
• Building the investment case and leading the operational scaling of the division
• Owning the business plan, budget and financial performance, with accountability for revenue, EBITDA and cash
• Driving operational excellence across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, logistics and quality
• Further developing manufacturing capability, technology and infrastructure to support growth
• Building, inspiring and developing a high-performing, accountable team
• Strengthening relationships with customers, trade and installer partners, suppliers and industry stakeholders
• Acting as an influential ambassador for the product and business within the wider market

We are seeking an accomplished Managing Director, General Manager or senior P&L leader with a demonstrable track record of scaling a product, division or business and delivering profitable growth.

You are likely to bring:

• Significant commercial and operational leadership experience
• A strong track record of P&L ownership and business growth
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience with in a B2B2C environment, ideally involving trade, installer or channel-led routes to market
• An understanding of product innovation, manufacturing and supply chain operations
• Experience operating within a group structure and working effectively with CEO and/or Board-level stakeholders
• The strategic capability to define a clear direction and translate it into measurable action
• Strong commercial judgement, financial discipline and data-led decision making
• The gravitas and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and inspire teams
• An entrepreneurial mindset, balanced with the discipline required to operate within a successful wider organisation
• High levels of integrity, resilience, energy and personal ownership

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience is expected; an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
