Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Miller to join our clients growing engineering and manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller or Manual Miller with experience within precision engineering and manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming milling machines to produce high-quality precision components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.

We are looking for individuals who take pride in quality, accuracy and workmanship, with a strong understanding of machining processes and engineering standards.

Set, operate and programme conventional and/or CNC milling machines

Manufacture precision engineered components to required tolerances

Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions

Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and machine settings

Carry out machine adjustments and tool changes

Inspect components using measuring equipment including:

Micrometers

Shadow graphs where applicable

Complete production and quality documentation accurately

Monitor machine performance and identify production or quality issues

Report tooling, material or machine faults promptly

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety

Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities

Work closely with production, engineering and quality teams

Previous experience as a Miller, CNC Miller or Milling Machinist within manufacturing or engineering

Experience setting and operating milling machines

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Experience using precision measuring equipment

Strong understanding of tolerances and quality standards

Good communication and team-working skills

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Good understanding of health & safety within manufacturing
