Salary: £27,000 basic

We are recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturing business that designs and manufactures high-performance engineered components for customers across a range of specialist industries.

The Role

As an Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for assembling precision-engineered products to a high standard, following technical drawings, work instructions and quality procedures.

You will receive training to develop your skills across a variety of assembly and manufacturing processes while working as part of a supportive production team.

Key Responsibilities

* Assemble precision components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.

* Operate a range of manual, semi-automated and automated production equipment.

* Use machinery such as saws, skiving and notching equipment safely and effectively.

* Carry out additional manufacturing processes, including spring cutting, welding and silicone filling where required.

* Perform manual finishing and deburring of components before final inspection.

* Complete production documentation and update manufacturing systems, including recording part quantities and inspection results.

* Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.

* Work collaboratively within the production team and support cross-training where required.

* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

* Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

* Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to assemble small, detailed components.

* Good mechanical aptitude.

* The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.

* A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

* The ability to manage your workload and work independently when required.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
