Lead operative

We are recruiting an experienced and dependable Lead Operative to join a busy waste management and recycling operation. This is a hands-on position combining operational duties with responsibility for supporting and coordinating a team. You will be stepping in for when the team leader is away.

The successful candidate will lead by example, help maintain productivity and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Working hours:

4 on 4 off. 6am - 6pm.

• Coordinate operatives and allocate daily workloads.

• Work hands-on alongside the team when required.

• Ensure waste is correctly sorted, processed and stored.

• Monitor productivity and help the team achieve daily targets.

• Conduct basic equipment and workplace safety checks.

• Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed.

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.

• Support the training and development of new employees.

• Report operational issues, breakdowns and safety concerns to management.

• Complete basic production and compliance paperwork.

• Provide cover for the supervisor when required.
